Celebrate National Tree Day 2023!

Trees for Halton Hills will be hosting a public tree planting event and extend invitations to the whole community to participate including schools, service clubs, businesses and local residents.
Native trees will only be planted and specific species will be determined by the site location’s characteristics, primarily using early successional species to optimize future tree growth. The site was formerly the old Armstrong landfill which Trees for Halton Hills has been continuing to plant on to create a natural forest again on this underused land.
During the planting Trees for Halton Hills members will educate on the importance of trees and why we need to plant them. Members of this non-profit group will instruct and demonstrate proper planting techniques and maintenance to optimize survival rates for the trees.
