Many municipalities require bird nests to be protected during work within their jurisdiction. This webinar will introduce you to locating birds’ nests in the urban environment so that the nests can be documented and afforded appropriate protection. The information from this webinar will help you make your community more bird friendly.
NOTE: This webinar took place on March 3, 2022 at 12pm (noon), however if you are still interested in listening to the recording and taking an internet-based test in order to obtain a certificate, please register. Upon registration, you will receive the link to the webinar recording.
Who should attend: Anyone who provides outdoor urban environment services where development may destroy breeding bird nests.
Cost: $25 per participant
To obtain a certificate that will demonstrate your understanding of the material covered, participants will be invited to complete and pass an internet-based test.
Speaker: Kandyd Szuba, PhD. R.P.F. (ret.)
Kandyd has a long association with teaching, policy development, and working with forest workers in Ontario to recognize and enhance the positive impacts forest operations can have on the natural environment, and to help to prevent or minimize negative impacts. She has been recognised in Maclean’s magazine annual review of Canadian universities as a top teacher. Kandyd will help you to see your outdoor working environment in a new way – as habitat for birds.
