Plant and Picnic – National Tree Day in Lethbridge!

City of Lethbridge staff will be taking part in tree planting and picnic festivities on September 20. In accordance with the Lethbridge Tree Guide, climate resilient trees were selected for our site to help with tree diversity and longevity! The trees will be planted near our beautiful Henderson Lake Park and will contribute to the 1000 Trees in 2023 program hosted by our local Helen Schuler Nature Centre.

The City’s urban forestry department will educate our staff on the importance of trees and the significance of supporting the health of our urban forest! They will assist participants in properly planting the trees and will maintain these public trees for years to come.
