Tree Canada’s National Tree Day Planting Event in Winnipeg

Tree Canada is excited to celebrate National Tree Day (NTD), presented by BMO. This is the biggest NTD celebration yet, with events taking place across the country during National Forest Week.

Join us at Optimist park to plant native trees and shrubs to connect with nature!

Tree Canada experts and experienced volunteers will be there to support you and answer your tree-related questions. We’ll provide gloves and shovels—just bring your enthusiasm!

By joining this free event, you will help mitigate the intense heat that the park is susceptible to during the summer months as there is a distinct lack of shade available for sport spectators. The trees will also provide wind breaks for the strong prairie winds that blow through the park all year round. Optimist park wants to create a world class facility and planting trees is a key part of that vision.
